Nguyen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Nguyen (Ph.D.\u20192015, UMass Amherst) is a Kaltashov\u2019s group alumni whose Ph.D. dissertation focused on developing novel analytical tools involving a variety of HPLC methods and ESI-MS to support design, optimization and characterization of transferrin-based therapeutics. Upon successful defense of the <a href=\"https:\/\/elements.chem.umass.edu\/kaltashovlab\/prof-son-n-nguyen\/\">Ph.D. dissertation<\/a>, he went to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for his postdoctoral research training under the guidance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnnl.gov\/science\/staff\/staff_info.asp?staff_num=5534\">Dr. Julia Laskin<\/a>. There, his research focused on developing mass spectrometry approaches for ambient multimodal imaging of tissue sections, living microbial communities, and individual cells, specifically nano-spray desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry imaging (nano-DESI MSI).
