Hongshan published a co-first-authored paper about nitrate reduction in Journal of the American Chemical Society!

A paper titled “Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction with Low-Index Cu Single Crystals: Selectivity Trends in Alkaline Solution“, with Hongshan Bi as a co-first author, was published in Journal of the American Chemical Society! In this paper, we collaborated with the group of Prof. Joseph S. DuChene, studied the atomistic reaction mechanism for the electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate into ammonia on low-index single crystal copper surface, and decoded the mysterious facet selectivity that favors Cu(100) surface over Cu(110) and Cu(111).
